What to know before you go

Chiado is one of Lisbon's most central and walkable neighbourhoods — you can reach Aroldo Hair on foot from Baixa-Chiado metro station in about five minutes. The salon is on a quieter side street, so look for Calcada Nova de Sao Francisco off the main square. For colour appointments (balayage, full colour, highlights), plan 2–2.5 hours. For a cut or blowout, 30–45 minutes is typical. Bridal bookings are best made a week or more in advance during peak season (May–September).
